Forgotten Words

Buttercup's Bullshit

I try to write words so eloquently

through this jumbled mixed up mess

the themes always the same
floating by

do I try to catch them

or let them fly

I try to write words so powerful

though I feel so very weak

Focusing on being strong

when hope seems so bleak

this torrid love affair with words

started so effortlessly

the blank pages now making a mockery

always ending in misery

this is supposed to be for my amusement

a whimsical vent

or at the very least

a release

without you here it is constant drudgery

to try to find some peace

is a poet without a muse still a poet?

do I continue or just accept defeat?

I’m putting down my pen for a little while

until words will again flow without pain

I focus on your light your energy

I know you would not want this
